# Roadmap and delivery principles

The roadmap should be a sequence of evidence-based stages rather than a promise that every ambitious idea will ship on a fixed date. The following phases are a planning framework, not a statement of completed work.

## Phase A — Foundation

**Objective:** establish a reliable core workspace and development process.

Potential deliverables:

* Clear navigation and consistent design system.
* Authentication and account settings.
* Basic conversation and project organization.
* Secure configuration and environment separation.
* Documentation structure and release notes.
* Automated tests and error reporting.
* Initial privacy and security review.

**Exit criteria:** core workflows work reliably, known limitations are documented, and failures can be diagnosed.

## Phase B — Connected workflows

**Objective:** make the workspace useful across defined tasks.

Potential deliverables:

* File upload and supported document processing.
* Search and source references where supported.
* A limited set of well-scoped integrations.
* Permission prompts and action history.
* Improved project context and export.
* Better accessibility and responsive behavior.

**Exit criteria:** integrations have tested permissions, actions can be audited, and users can revoke access.

## Phase C — Developer platform

**Objective:** make supported capabilities usable by external developers.

Potential deliverables:

* Stable API contracts.
* API-key management and revocation.
* Usage visibility and rate limits.
* Versioned examples and SDKs where justified.
* Error documentation and service monitoring.
* A clear deprecation policy.

**Exit criteria:** external developers can build and debug a small application using the published documentation.

## Phase D — Model research maturity

**Objective:** improve model development and serving discipline.

Potential deliverables:

* Reproducible training configurations.
* Checkpoint validation and recovery.
* Evaluation datasets and reports.
* Inference profiling and regression tests.
* Documented model releases when ready.
* Model-specific safety and limitation notes.

**Exit criteria:** reported improvements can be reproduced under defined conditions and the model's intended use is clear.

## Phase E — Controlled agents

**Objective:** support multi-step tasks without surrendering user control.

Potential deliverables:

* Read-only and draft modes.
* Explicit tool scopes.
* Confirmation for sensitive actions.
* Cancellation and timeout propagation.
* Sandboxed execution where required.
* Logs and reviewable results.

**Exit criteria:** tests demonstrate that permissions are enforced outside the model and that failures are reported accurately.

## Phase F — Exploratory devices and robotics

**Objective:** investigate physical systems only when the necessary resources and expertise are available.

Potential deliverables:

* A narrowly defined use case.
* Simulation and hazard analysis.
* Bench prototypes and controlled tests.
* Independent safety review.
* Operator procedures and recovery plans.

**Exit criteria:** the prototype meets documented requirements within a restricted environment and has a credible safety case. No public deployment should be implied before that point.

## Prioritization rule

For every proposed feature, evaluate user value, engineering cost, security risk, operational burden, and measurable success criteria. Delay features that cannot be tested or supported properly. Shipping fewer reliable capabilities is preferable to maintaining a large catalogue of unreliable promises.
