# How Sponsored Content Appears in Orbit AI

> Understand when and why you see sponsored content in Orbit AI, how it is labeled and capped, and how to stop personalized ads while keeping your account functional.

Sponsored content in Orbit AI appears only under specific conditions and is always clearly labeled. This page explains when you may see ads, why they appear, and how to control your experience.

## When sponsored content appears

Sponsored content is shown only if all of the following are true:

* You are on an **ad-supported plan**
* You have **consented to personalized advertising** in your privacy settings

If either condition is not met, you will not see sponsored content.

## How sponsored content is displayed

Every sponsored item is:

* **Labeled "Sponsored"** so you can distinguish it from organic content
* Subject to **frequency caps** to prevent overexposure
* Delivered through **safe HTTPS redirects** that protect your connection

## Why you see a specific ad

Ads may be matched to you in two ways:

| Reason | Description |
| - | - |
| **Contextual** | Based on the current conversation or page content |
| **Interest-based** | Based on broad interests inferred from your activity over time |

## How to stop personalized ads

To stop seeing personalized sponsored content:

1. Go to `/settings/privacy`
2. Turn off **personalized advertising**

You may still see non-personalized ads if you remain on an ad-supported plan. To remove all sponsored content entirely, you would need to switch to a plan that does not include ads.
