# Orbit Glossary of Terms and Concepts

> Definitions for Orbit terms including workspace, entitlement, thread, access code, sponsored content, personalized ads, MFA, and Edge Functions.

This glossary defines the terms you will encounter while using Orbit and reading the documentation.

| Term | Definition |

| **Access code** | A redeemable code that grants an account entitlement or premium feature, such as Pro Pulsar access. |
| **Account** | A user's authentication identity and associated profile. |
| **Active workspace** | The team or personal context currently selected in the app. |
| **Authenticator** | An app that produces time-limited MFA codes. |
| **Capability** | A tool, model, or mode the current account is allowed to use. |
| **Conversation / thread** | A saved exchange between the user and Orbit. Threads can be searched, renamed, or moved to trash. |
| **Edge Function** | A server-side function that handles API logic without exposing provider secrets to the browser. Orbit uses Edge Functions for chat, billing, and mission execution. |
| **Entitlement** | An account-level permission or feature access, usually granted by your plan or redeemed through an access code. |
| **Library** | The searchable area for conversations, assets, files, and other saved items. |
| **MFA** | Multi-factor authentication. An extra verification step required during sign-in based on your account security settings. |
| **Mode** | A chat behavior category such as Chat, Fast, Build, or ProPulsar. |
| **Onboarding** | First-use questions and profile setup after account creation. |
| **Personalized ads** | Advertisements selected using your interest scores and consent preferences. You can manage these in privacy settings. |
| **Plan / tokens** | Your subscription plan determines available features and token quotas for AI usage. |
| **Publishable configuration** | Client-side service configuration intended to be public; not a private credential. |
| **RLS** | Database row-level security policies that restrict access to records. |
| **Secret** | A credential that must remain private, such as a password or server-side provider key. |
| **Sponsored content** | Paid content placements within the app, distinct from personalized ads. |
| **Workspace** | A shared context for collaboration. Your account can belong to multiple workspaces, and you switch between them from the shared shell. |
| **Workspace membership** | A user's role-based relationship to a workspace. |
